Consultants having a conversation in a modern office

Where should the public sector go from here?

When Covid hit and the public sector headed home and remote working began, something fundamentally changed. Now we can all return to the office, many are reconsidering the old ways of working. Is the hybrid model still needed and how will the things we learned in lockdown affect our approach to delivering digital projects?

We asked public sector digital leaders about how hybrid working has affected their projects, working practices and teams. And how they see their future unfolding.

Are you thinking what they’re thinking?

We talked to 200 public sector digital leaders to get a true snapshot of thinking around hybrid working. The results are a mix of the expected, surprising and challenging, for example:

  • 98% now desire a mix of co-location and working at home
  • 77% of people think their teams have been more productive during the pandemic
  • 58% of people thought communication within their team had improved
  • 50% thought recruitment  was harder than before.
