One of the nation's largest wholesale mortgage lenders and non-bank mortgage lenders, Homepoint works with a nationwide network of more than 6,000 mortgage brokers and correspondent partners - all of whom possess a deep knowledge and expertise of the communities and customers they serve.

The challenge

Even in the midst of achieving impressive 400% growth during the pandemic, Homepoint wanted to maintain its momentum by continuing to innovate, transform their digital organization, and scale as their business continued to grow. They wanted to remove their dependency on legacy systems and create a platform to service all the upcoming front-end applications they plan to create. They wanted to find new, better ways to enable the use of modern technologies, design their event driven-architecture, build their domain microservices, and provide a more agile way of working.

The strategy

Kin + Carta partnered with Homepoint's cross-functional teams to help expedite ongoing initiatives and enable their team to use the modern technology stack of Azure Cloud, Azure Kubernetes Service, Confluent Kafka, Azure Devops CI/CD while utilizing Agile Scrum. Redisclosures was released as the first of many applications that will utilize the Homepoint Exchange Platform (HPX).

Leveraging modern cloud engineering, resilient architecture, and agile principles, the Kin +Carta team collaborated with Homepoint to build a solution in less than 5 months to achieve stability around the vendor platform.
