Global digital transformation consultancy Kin + Carta has appointed Katie Franzen to its financial services practice as VP of business development, as part of an ongoing strategy to grow its financial services practice.

Franzen will report to Eric Rosenzweig, managing director of financial services at Kin + Carta. Her remit includes building out and growing the consultancy’s financial services portfolio and bringing her expertise to a strategic, targeted approach in this sector.

Franzen joins from Accenture, where she led the Microsoft business group and parts of the insurance portfolio. An outspoken advocate for women in technology and women in financial services, Franzen was the sponsor the ‘I Am Remarkable’ Google program at Accenture. She will be stepping into a similar advocacy position within Kin + Carta’s internal programs.

Prior to Accenture, Franzen had a two-year stint with Google, where she was a key account manager. This followed more than two decades with technology giant IBM, where she was embedded within the largest property insurance and casualty insurance company in the United States, responsible for growing that relationship.

Eric Rosenzweig, managing director of financial services at Kin + Carta, said: “Katie brings an exceptional blend of client management and business development skills to Kin + Carta. Her previous experience with some of the largest organizations in the world from both a financial services and technology perspective aligns perfectly with our ambitions for the region.

“What really excites me is Katie’s history of developing junior colleagues and being an outspoken advocate for marginalized groups. This is such a key part of our mission at Kin + Carta. She is going to be a pivotal from both an internal culture and client services perspective and we’re looking forward to welcoming her to the Kin + Carta family.”

Katie Franzen, VP of business development, financial services, Kin + Carta added: “Kin + Carta has an exceptional culture, with a strong growth mindset and an incredible focus on innovation with exceptional client experience and deep partnership alignment.

“Building partnerships will be a big part of my role here at Kin + Carta, forging closer, stronger relationships with technology companies and ISVs so that we can collaborate and deliver intelligent experiences to our financial services clients as the practice grows. The ‘now, near and next’ of clients’ digital journeys are converging and I’m excited to showcase the proven capabilities of Kin + Carta.”

In addition, Kin + Carta has also appointed Peter Herlan to the position of client lead, financial services. Herlan has worked with banks and insurance carriers for the past 20 years in several technology related business development leadership roles with companies such as ADP, LexisNexis, Aon and most recently the Financial Services Practice Leader for Proudfoot Consulting.
