Today, Kin + Carta announced it has received a score of 80 out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The HRC Foundation's CEI has become a roadmap and benchmarking tool for U.S. businesses in the evolving field of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality in the workplace.

The CEI rates employers across four categories: workforce protections, inclusive benefits, inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility. Businesses are rated on a scale from 0 to 100, with a certain number of points awarded for meeting each criterion.

We’re all extremely grateful to the HRC for this recognition. Yet we all recognize there is so much work to do to ensure our hard-earned rights do not rescind. This year, our Pride theme was standing in solidarity with the transgender community, who have found themselves at the forefront of targeted campaigns by organizations with harmful ideological and theological agendas.
Robbie Clews, Senior Google Cloud Alliance Director & Pride+ US Affinity Group Lead

Kin + Carta has a dedicated Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Awareness (IDEA) team led by Shereen Barros, a recent finalist for the Head of Diversity of the Year award by DIVA Magazine and The Bank of London Rainbow Honours. Guided by the IDEA strategic program's five ambitions, the team works day in and day out to bring forward responsible business initiatives that are inclusive, accessible and equitable.

In a world that is actively discriminating against the LGBTQIA+ community, it’s resources like the CEI that continue to challenge us to do better for our employees. We are honoured to have achieved the score we did and are committed to using the CEI to learn, take action, and continue to drive meaningful change.
Shereen Barros, Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion

Clews continued: “We are proud to work for an organization that allows us to bring our authentic selves to work, provide us with a platform to use our voices and raise awareness of the issues our community face, and ultimately work to create a better world for everyone - both within our own workplace and beyond.”
