Kin + Carta’s Responsible Business Lead, Paul Hunter, named to Crain’s 2022 Notable Leaders in Sustainability

The 2022 Notable Leaders in Sustainability list aims to highlight company leaders setting ambitious goals to reach zero emissions; nonprofit leaders supporting environmental justice efforts and educational initiatives in the community; and entrepreneurs offering green solutions for everything from sustainable doors to geothermal energy systems. The award recognizes individuals for their success and accomplishments during the last 18 months.

In his role as responsible business lead, Paul is in charge of collaborating on the creation of Kin + Carta’s global sustainability strategy, and is accountable for its implementation in the Americas region. This strategy is inclusive of: 

• The accountability to identify and mitigate social and environmental risks in the firm’s book of business through its Environmental and Social Risk Policy. 
• The execution of measuring and increasing the number of client projects that have a positive impact on the world. 
• Formalizing how Kin + Carta brings sustainability to market through all service line offerings. 

As responsible business lead, Paul was a key driver in making Kin + Carta the first certified B Corp on the London Stock Exchange, rallying firm-wide support toward achieving the three-year long process. He has also driven the practice of looking beyond profit by establishing an objective scoring matrix of positive impact work. In one year, the firm’s goal of revenue from positive impact work has increased by 1200% — a goal Paul is accountable for creating the strategy around, executing upon and measuring.
