Every year, the BIMA 100 recognises the pioneers of the digital industry. The people who are leading the way when it comes to enhancing our digitally dependent world are rightly rewarded for their inspiring thinking and impactful work by way of inclusion on this prestigious list.

That’s why we’re proud to introduce Group Chief Executive in Europe, David Tuck, as part of this year’s list. Here’s what he had to say about the acknowledgement:

What does it mean to you to be recognised as one of the individuals who is shaping the future of Europe’s digital industry?

I genuinely view my BIMA 100 inclusion as recognition of the broader team at Kin + Carta. I’m very fortunate to work with incredibly talented people who are passionate about how we shape the industry. I serve them, and together we’re focused on building a world that works better for everyone.

How did you feel when you found out you’d made the list?

Having been a judge in this category last year, I know how many incredible leaders are nominated, so I’m proud to make the list.

It also made me more reflective than usual; I’ve looked back at the progress we’ve made over the last two or three years and the role I’ve played in leading Kin + Carta Europe through both transformation and growth.

What do you love about being part of the digital industry right now?

I love that more companies in the digital industry, like Kin + Carta, demonstrate what it means to be a responsible business. There’s a massive opportunity to embrace technology and data to have a positive impact.

It cuts through everything we do, like removing built-in bias from the past, developing sustainable computing and accessible design, and making the Internet and all digital products and services accessible to everyone.

What’s the greatest thing we can do as an industry to build a world that works better for everyone?

As an industry, we can have a disproportionately positive impact. This starts with a cultural and behavioural change. For us, that means we balance people, profit and the planet.

We know that to build the products and platforms that are used by millions of people, we need our teams to reflect the communities we’re in, and that means we need diversity and inclusion to be at the core of how we grow and develop our teams across all the countries in which we’re active.

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting their digital career?

Embrace every opportunity to learn, try new things, be open to feedback and have fun.

What’s next for you?

Continue the path we’re on! Kin + Carta Europe is now over 850 people across seven countries, so the next milestone will be to be recognised as a ‘Great Place to Work’.
