Working together to feed the nation

Food banks are facing a massive challenge during the Coronavirus crisis. Co-op has always been a champion of the community and has responded amazingly to this serious issue. Over 10 weeks, they’re giving away £1,500,000 worth of food to FareShare, a charity that provides essentials to community food banks across the country.

From chocolate to charity

At Kin + Carta we were delighted to work together with Co-op in promoting this brilliant initiative. We had been planning a major digital campaign for Easter with them. But switched our energies towards getting as much support for FareShare as possible.

In a matter of days, we worked with them and other agency partners to develop a new plan and activate a campaign across digital channels including social, digital out of home, instore screens, display and web. Across all these channels we raised awareness of FareShare and encouraged people to become a ‘local hero’ by donating directly to Fareshare.

Be a local hero

Co-op are doing an amazing job but we need everyone to help so nobody goes hungry during this crisis. You can easily donate by following this link, texting MEALS to 70490 to give £10, or adding a donation when you next shop in a Co-op.

Kin+Carta have worked with us to launch something special in the space of just a few days. They have truly been an extension of our (remote!) team and their consideration of journeys, messages and channel first thinking across the digital ecosystem has really brought everything together resulting in a truly integrated and well executed campaign across all of our digital channels.

Jordan McDowell - Lead Digital Marketing Manager

We’re very proud to continue to work with Co-op, even more so during this critical time. It’s been an absolute pleasure for the team and I to get involved and help support Co-op in their efforts to feed the nation.”

Joelle Dunne - Senior Account Director
