The role in a nutshell

Join our dynamic team as a Lead GCP Cloud Engineer. We seek a technically robust individual who not only excels in the Cloud realm but also possesses a natural ability to lead and mentor. Your passion for technology, commitment to continuous learning, and outstanding communication skills will be paramount. Previous experience leading technical teams or operating within self-organised, cross-disciplinary Agile Squads is highly advantageous. What you can expect

  • Work on custom projects for clients very closely with their team
  • Keep healthy communication with your project manager and client
  • Design Cloud architectures or improve existing cloud environments while considering the client’s security, availability, and cost requirements
  • Provide consultancy to clients on their Google Cloud Platform (GCP) strategy. Organise and conduct workshops with clients as necessary.
  • Deploy Cloud services using reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Migrate Workloads from on-premise to Cloud or from Cloud to Cloud
  • Collaborate with development teams in the software development and release processes – either consult on or construct CI/CD pipelines, promote usage or assist with Proof of Concepts of new Cloud Services, and advise on security & performance best practices.
  • Learn from your colleagues and teach them what you know

The type of person we’d like to meet

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing robust and highly available cloud architectures. GCP Professional Cloud Architect certifications is a requirement.
  • Solid experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Advanced Networking Skills - proficiency in GCP networking services, understanding of hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Committed to integrating security best practices in daily tasks and projects.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mastery of Terraform and a clear understanding of infrastructure pipeline concepts.
  • Excels in dynamic technical landscapes and swiftly adapts to deliver effectively in new environments.
  • Skilled in providing technical leadership to team members on collaborative projects.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Internal drive to learn, improve and succeed

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with data technologies (e.g., Databricks)
  • Experience designing and implementing Multi-Cloud solutions.
  • Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Kubernetes Management Tools & Solutions - ex. Google Anthos.
  • Additional certifications in AWS and/or Azure.
