The role in a nutshell:

The role of the Analytics Consultant is to support the wider Data & AI Practice in providing consultative services and the ability to manage digital analytics implementations on our clients’ digital estates.
The core responsibilities of the role entail overseeing digital analytics implementation projects and programs of work including, but not limited to:

  • Discovery type phases of work to understand current analytics architectures and their resulting data quality
  • Specification work to translate business KPIs and metrics into data layer specifications to  inform development and tag management activities
  • Implementation of digital analytics using a tag manager and configuration of digital analytics software
  • Implementation of third party tagging including, digital experience platforms, voice of customer solutions, experimentation platforms and media tags
  • Rigorous quality assurance of implementations pre and post-deployment to ensure tracking meets the Kin + Carta data quality standard
  • Implementation of consent management platforms to ensure our clients’ compliance with cookie and privacy legislation alongside ethical data collection
  • Liaison with analysts to respond to and assist with queries relating to data collection
  • Collaboration with experimentation and data engineers on wider projects, maximising the data opportunity for our clients
  • Understand Google Analytics 4 reports and prepare explorations on collected data
  • Being able to connect Google Analytics 4 with BigQuery and write basic queries on the exported data

The type of person we’d like to meet:

  • Proficiency in auditing tag management and analytics implementations to identify strengths and weaknesses and recommend prioritised improvements
  • Ability to write data layer specifications that will ensure accurate data collection and best practice surfacing of data in analytics tools or usability in activation scenarios and downstream data sets
  • Fluency with native Google Tag Manager tags, triggers and variables
  • Competence in JavaScript or experience with HTML/CSS
  • Competence in jQuery 
  • Proficiency in utilizing various tag management systems such as Adobe Dynamic Tag Management, Tealium, or Segment
  • Familiarity with other web analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics, Piwik, or Matomo
  • Ability to configure web analytics software to specification and ensure accurate and consistent data processing and presentation
  • Ability to employ factorisation techniques within a tag manager to manage complex implementations and optimise maintenance and performance
  • Strong debugging skills using a range of debugging tools to ensure data quality pre and post deployment or to investigate data issues
  • Liaison with analysts, experimentation and data engineers to collaborate on projects and draw upon their skills
  • Advocacy for data quality standard and help make data collection a center of excellence
  • Proficiency in understanding, using and preparing reports and explorations in Google Analytics 4
  • Ability to work independently, and, even more importantly, within a team
  • Sound organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
  • Efficiency in working under tight deadlines
  • Independent self-starter approach, prioritizing the question "Why?" before the question "How?"
  • Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex data collection challenges in layman's terms
  • In-depth, demonstrable knowledge of data layers, tag management software (Google Tag Manager), web analytics  (Google Analytics 4), data quality issues and applications for data are essential.
  • Ability to connect Google Analytics 4 with BigQuery and write basic queries on the exported data

The interview process at Kin + Carta

Here’s what to expect from the interview process at Kin + Carta: 

Intro Call with the Talent Team (30 mins) - If your skills and experience match the role requirements, our Talent team will contact you to arrange a Zoom call. The aim of this call is to get to know you and for you to find out more about Kin + Carta. After this call, if we feel like you are a good match for the role, you’ll be invited to a First-stage interview.

Task - In the next stage of the interview process, you'll come across a task segment where you'll receive a real-time assignment. This task presents a valuable opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills and abilities in a practical setting.

First-Stage Interview (60 minutes) - This will typically be a Q&A style interview, lasting approximately 1 hour. During this process, you'll have the opportunity to discuss the results of the task provided earlier. The interview is designed to help our team understand your skills, experience, interests and motivations. It’s also a great opportunity for you to ask questions and learn more about us!

Making a Decision - Following the interview process, our hiring team will get together to discuss feedback and make a final decision. We aim to get back to you as soon as we possibly can! 

Our average recruitment process takes around three to four weeks. You will be assigned a dedicated member of our Talent team to support you throughout the process.
