The Role in a nutshell: 

Here at Kin + Carta we are growing our team of highly skilled Delivery Managers. The Agile Delivery Manager role comprises a mix of Agile coaching, project management and client management. Our Delivery Managers work with our expert in-house teams of developers, designers and test engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality software and operational change.

Your role will be to give the team the best possible opportunity to succeed in a variety of environments. We are looking for people who have successfully led the agile delivery of complex and varied software projects or programmes owning, driving & optimising delivery.

We’d love to speak to you if you have excellent communication skills and the experience and knowledge to work with key senior stakeholders to provide delivery progress updates and drive forward improvement strategies to the wider delivery programme of work you are part of. 

What you can expect:

As a Senior Delivery Manager at Kin + Carta you will be responsible first and foremost for independently taking ownership of your project delivery plan and consistently visualising and radiating information for the team and client to ensure transparency. You’ll own the team’s processes, ensuring agile approaches are pragmatically adopted and maintained whilst coaching and mentoring team members and clients to enhance agility. Driving quality and continuous improvement will be central to everything you do and you’ll be skilled at using various tools and techniques to identify where improvements can be made. You will be adept in utilising data and metrics to track and forecast delivery, use it to manage expectations and highlight areas of inefficiency. You’ll be joining a psychological safe culture and will be committed and passionate about building on that and getting the best from your team.

The type of person we’d love to meet:

  • You should have led the agile delivery of varied software projects as a Delivery Lead, owning, driving & optimising delivery
  • An agile mindset with demonstrable experience of the most common agile methods, tools and practices (Scrum, Kanban, XPetc.) and be able to pragmatically apply and coach them as required
  • Experience of defining, refining and continuously improving processes related to project delivery
  • You can create bespoke workshops and effectively facilitate agile ceremonies and workshops to ensure effective outcomes are reached 
  • You are able to create a psychologically safe team culture, positively impacting morale, performance and product quality
  • You have senior Stakeholder management skills, building effective relationships at all levels and can help clients to make efficiencies in their own governance processes. 
  • You are able to spot early when expectations aren't going to be met and put in plans to close expectation gaps
  • Your status reporting shows that you understand your clients governance requirements and use these to tackle challenging conversations  
  • You have knowledge of various methods of data collection and work with your team to understand the delivery metrics that would most help them to solve specific problems and to plan ahead for a project
  • Experience of working with key external stakeholders, to understand their requirements and bring these effectively into the work of the team
  • You are comfortable taking the initiative and working with ambiguity, helping K+C deliver software and transform clients’ ways of working in new and better ways 
  • You're able to own the process of capturing requirements within your team. You're able to gather and write requirements as user stories and run refinement sessions either alongside a Product Manager or independently
  • Demonstrable consideration of the needs of users and reflecting them at the centre of the delivery process
  • Excellent clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal
  • You are able to effectively manage the delivery operations, e.g casting and commercial tracking for large projects and identify opportunities for improvement. You are able to lead on conversations with clients regarding budgets and casting matters
  • You use stakeholder mapping to identify key stakeholders to build or improve relationships with, proactively looking for opportunities to grow extend the reach of K+C 
  • Risk and Issue Management, you have used collaboration to draw out RAIDS, and how these can be mitigated in collaboration with the team and Client. Your knowledge of the relevant technical landscapes helps you to contribute to spotting risks 
  • You can gather information from stakeholders and customers to form a Product vision through facilitation of workshops
  • You can build and manage roadmaps and plans for your projects and work with multiple dependencies. You are able to challenge stakeholders on prioritisation decisions and influence the strategic direction of the product
  • You can raise difficult issues with clients, articulated professionally using written and verbal communication. Clients see you as a trusted point of contact for the team and feel they can comfortably raise issues and concerns.
  • You have leveraged your experience and capabilities to build on delivery resources and provide mentoring to contribute to the development of others
  • Working knowledge of Jira and/or other other software workflow management tools 

Desirable Craft Skills & Knowledge

  • Public sector experience and Government Service Standard experience would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of RFIs/RFPs/Pitches with your expertise of delivery for new business opportunities
