Kin + Carta expanded to Bulgaria with the acquisition of the Bulgarian-based software development company Melon (founded 2003). Melon are a team of more than 300 professionals providing integrated software development services.

The role in a nutshell

This new role will join our Global Business Services Centre in Sofia, Bulgaria. You will be a key member in the team and will have a passion for maximising efficiency and effectiveness throughout your area of expertise. 

The AR Accountant will be assigned the following core tasks primarily for a UK based business: billing, cash applications, credit control and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a previous shared services centre and have worked with English speaking customers.

What you can expect

Billing

  • Own the accounts receivable functions including processing and issuing invoices, reconciling accounts and managing collections in collaboration with the revenue team and account managers.
  • Collaborate closely with the UK based revenue team to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Creating client billing plans in the ERP system and per signed contracts.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data.
  • Proactively case internal colleagues for missing purchase order numbers and uninvoiced balances 
  • Use 3rd party portals to log client invoices.
  • Work with the wider GBS and UK based colleagues to support half and annual audits.

Credit Control

  • Manage collections including communication with clients, issuing statements and reminder letters.
  • Prepare and distribute receivables, reports to clients.
  • Perform daily cash applications based on cash receipts in bank accounts.
  • Use credit reporting agencies to recommend credit limits to the Financial Controller and Financial Director.
  • Work with the Account Managers to escalate collection or billing issues as necessary.
  • Perform annual credit reviews of existing client base.
  • Produce and submit monthly aged debt reports.
  • Update cash flow forecast with expected payment dates.

Shared Services Continual Improvement

  • Participate in continuous improvement and efficiency projects in your specialism

General

  • Participate in transferring of work from UK entities to Sofia.
  • Other activities as directed by senior leadership.

Essential Skills

  • University diploma in Accounting / Finance
  • Previous accounts receivable and collections experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Intermediate
  • Experience working with international stakeholders
  • Previous shared services / BPO experience
  • Excellent English language skills
  • ERP System Experience
  • Desire to learn about cutting edge automation tools to enhance transactional finance processes
  • Team work – cooperates and works well with others in pursuit of team goals
  • Flexible 'Can do' attitude
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • FinancialForce experience
  • Google suite experience

The interview process at Kin + Carta

Here’s what to expect from the interview process at Kin + Carta: 

Intro Call with the Talent Team (30 minutes) – If your skills and experience match the role requirements, our Talent team will contact you to arrange a call.  The aim of this call is to get to know you and for you to find out more about Kin + Carta. This call can be held either by telephone or Zoom. After this call, if we feel like you are a good match for the role, you’ll be invited to a first-stage interview.

First-Stage Interview (45 minutes) - This will be a Q&A style interview, lasting approximately 45 minutes. This process is designed to help our team find out about your skills and experience but also what you enjoy and what motivates you. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask our team questions and  learn more about us! If you are successful in the first stage interview, you will progress to the next stage of our interview process

Making a Decision - Following the interview process, our hiring team will get together to discuss feedback and make a final decision. We aim to get back to you as soon as we possibly can!
