The role in a nutshell

A mid-level JS automation test engineer plays a vital role in ensuring software quality through the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using JavaScript, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and actively contributing to test framework design and execution. They possess a solid understanding of automation frameworks, troubleshoot automation issues, collaborate effectively with the development team, all while keeping up-to-date with the latest automation trends and best practices within the JavaScript ecosystems.
They have the aptitude to quickly become subject-matter experts, displaying proficiency in various testing techniques, designs, and strategies. They adeptly handle the intricacies of cross-platform complexities, further enhancing our QA capabilities. With a background in Agile methodologies, they play a significant role in our agile teams' success. Their adaptability, swift learning, and capacity to embrace change are assets in any dynamic QA environment.

 

What you can expect

  • Work on custom projects for clients, sometimes very closely with their team
  • Design and write test automation scripts
  • Investigate problems in software as a result of testing
  • Work with QA analysts and software developers to find efficient automation solutions
  • Keep a healthy communication with your project manager and client
  • Take active part in all project stages – analysis, estimation, documentation, coding, bug fixing and support
  • Learn from your colleagues and teach them what you know

The type of person we’d like to meet

  • 2+ years practical experience in JS/Typescript test automation
  • Hands on automation with Playwright
  • API automation expertise
  • Experience in testing Microservices architecture
  • Experience with Charles, Postman or similar tools
  • Confidence to question and challenge from a Testing
  • perspective
  • The ability to quickly become a subject-matter expert
  • Knowledge of different testing techniques, test designs, and
  • test strategies
  • Awareness of cross-platform complexities and their impact on
  • quality
  • Experience of working in an Agile team
  • Demonstrable initiative - you like to think outside of the box
  • Ability to be adaptable and learn quickly

Nice to have

  • Expertise in Cypress automation
  • Hands on Flutter automation with Dart
  • Experience of using Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) collaboratively
  • An understanding of networking principles
  • An understanding of CI/CD practices
  • Exposure to the larger Testing community
  • Experience with Jira/Confluence
