About Kin + Carta

Want to help build a world that works better for everyone? Kin + Carta is a global digital transformation consultancy that makes a difference to the billions who now work, play, shop, communicate and share online.

Join 1,600 curious and diverse minds in connecting people, data and technology to produce amazing experiences for some of the world’s most influential companies. Become a maker, builder or creator as we explore the possibilities of sustainable digital technology, helping clients to rapidly innovate, modernise their systems, enable their teams, and optimise for continued growth.

We focus on tech but we’re a proudly inclusive business with trust and human connection at its heart. People, the planet, and profit matter equally to us which is why we’re a certified B Corporation in the United States and Europe. With additional offices in South America, there is a place for you here wherever you’re based.

The role in a nutshell:

Kin + Carta are looking for people who love making things that matter work better for everyone, improving the experiences, work, and lives of users. This role gives you the opportunity to understand, analyse and transform the delivery of digital products and services within an Agile environment.

This role involves bridging the gap between business and user needs and technical possibilities. You’ll be able to analyse ‘as is’ business processes and requirements and translate them into ‘to be’ user stories and success criteria, and you’ll also be able to get closely involved in the process of bringing these requirements to life by becoming an advocate for business needs within a dynamic multi disciplinary agile delivery team.  Our Business Analysts work with our expert in-house teams of developers, designers and test engineers, and speak directly to key client stakeholders to create the requirements that lead to innovative, high-quality software.

What you can expect:

The role a Business Analyst plays on each project can vary and is shaped by the type of project you're working on, the client, and the skills and experience you bring to the table. And since no two projects are the same you can expect to work across a variety of clients and different project types. While you won't need to do all of these things at the same time, as a Business Analyst you'll have the opportunity to identify client challenges, create new products and services, help develop new propositions and experiences, experiment with the latest technology, and share your point of view and opinion.

The type of person we’d love to meet:

We’d love to meet people with experience of business analysis, including some in some tricky areas and situations with a strong desire to develop your skills further.

  • Investigating, visualising, articulating and inclusively connecting up different viewpoints to solve complex problems  and concepts based on available information
  • Identifying and exploring opportunities for service and business improvement through one to one interviews, facilitating workshops, and other requirements gathering mechanisms
  • Sharing understanding of real-world situations (including ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ states, communicating to aid understanding)
  • Innovation and Ambiguity - comfortable taking the initiative and working with ambiguity, helping Kin + Carta deliver software and transform clients’ ways of working in new and better ways
  • User needs - passionate about considering the needs of users and reflecting them at the centre of the delivery process.
  • Value - proactively identifying opportunities to add additional value for the client
  • Making informed decisions based on user needs, available technology and value for money
  • Articulating requirements accurately through user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Maintaining and constantly iterating the structures that make up a business enterprise or architecture
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • You should have helped to implement change initiatives for clients, understanding areas of pain and introducing and coaching optimised ways of working.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of web/mobile analytics such as Adobe Analytics.
  • SQL skills
  • Experience in building banking or payments systems/platforms
