The role in a nutshell:

This role sits at the forefront of Kin + Carta’s European expansion ambitions. We have a small team in the Netherlands, with existing client relationships including Shell, Unilever, BNP Paribas, and Lexus across Northern Europe. We’re ready to build on those foundations, and we’re looking for a new business leader to help us do that.

You’ll be responsible for generating and converting demand - with total ownership over new business in your region. You’ll work closely with our service leaders, marketing and inside sales teams to generate opportunities with our strategic targets. You’ll also work closely with our SMEs and delivery teams to sell and close those opportunities. You’ll bring the sales craft, energy, and direction to these cross-functional teams.

This is a great opportunity to move into a sales leadership role as we build the new region, but initially, we’re looking for somebody that can create something from scratch. Somebody with the experience, network, and craft skills to build and convert a pipeline of new clients.

We find candidates with a good understanding of, and passion for, technology and modern software development often have the most success. This is a sales role, but Kin + Carta is a technology and consultancy company at its heart.

The Demand Team exists to win the right work to fuel Kin + Carta’s growth. We develop consultative, peer-level relationships with our clients and prospects. We communicate our vision and services with accuracy, energy, and conviction. We identify, generate, nurture and win the kind of work that aligns with our mission to make the world work better, for everyone.

Demand Generation

  • Identify and develop new opportunities through collaboration with partnerships, marketing and inside sales, and your network.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships at executive levels.

Demand Conversion

  • Qualify well. Uncover key information through consultative meetings, and use that to understand desirability and our likelihood of winning.
  • Pitch and propose successfully. Drive understanding of the brief, own the sales strategy, and most importantly, inspire the wider team.

Closing and Commercial Stewardship

  • Structure deals to secure long-term commitments that deliver value for both sides, and that reflect our agile way of working.
  • Ensure that you and your team define and deliver viable, competitive plans and proposals, and effectively communicate them to our clients.
  • Understand how to build and maintain momentum throughout the sales process, and then close deals effectively and efficiently.
  • Accurately forecast your pipeline throughout the whole process.

The type of person we’d love to meet:

  • This is a senior level position within our Demand team and as such we are looking for candidates with substantial, proven experience and knowledge gained from within a commercial role in the software development space. 
  • Successful candidates will have the proven ability to independently close deals valued £1m and above.
  • A consistent track record of independently generating and closing strategic, interesting work.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to lead on negotiations, challenge resolution, and networking.
  • The consultative, charismatic style required to influence, motivate and confidently challenge your colleagues and clients alike.
  • A commercial, analytical mind. You'll act as a commercial steward for your clients and pitches, and lead those around you to do the same.
  • You’ll consistently demonstrate a high level of integrity and empathy, even in challenging situations.
  • This role operates in our Northern European region therefore we are looking for candidates with an exceptional level of spoken and written English as well as language skills in another european language (eg: Dutch, German, Flemish)
