The Client Partner role in a nutshell

As a Client Partner on the Kin + Carta team, you will be the senior leader across a £multi-million portfolio of accounts. You’ll develop and nurture our most senior-level key client relationships, you’ll lead and motivate our team to deliver fantastic work and you’ll be the owner of the longer-term strategic direction, planning and growth of your accounts.

As their trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with senior clients providing them with true digital leadership. You’ll inspire client teams in your capacity as their strategic partner and you’ll motivate internal teams to develop and consistently over-deliver. You will be adept at interpreting and adding value to new client briefs, always thinking about the longer-term ambition and objectives of your clients and their business, engaging with a wide range of teams/disciplines to deliver the very best work possible.

You’ll build and nurture ongoing relationships with your peers across the Kin + Carta business. Actively seeking out and developing opportunities to bring in our broader specialisms. You possess strategic gravitas and offer considered opinions and recommendations based on your experience whilst being respectful of others. You won’t accept the status quo and will challenge and assert where appropriate to ensure the right outcome.

You’ll be accountable for the commercials across your account portfolio - working with your Client Services teams, Lead Producers and Programme Managers to ensure account profitability and accurate forecasting. Totally on top of the finances, you’ll be one step ahead of the Finance Director, always tracking performance against annual targets and quickly identifying potential gaps around how you can look to plug them.

You’ll own and lead the Account Planning across your client portfolio – building on your in-depth knowledge of your clients and their businesses to identify the right areas of focus and working collaboratively with Practice Leads, and senior stakeholders across the business where appropriate, to develop and implement the strategic vision for your accounts.

A key focus of your role will be on the longer-term development and growth of your accounts. You’ll be tasked with leading on business development opportunities across your account portfolio - developing, owning and presenting plans and proposals that will add more value for our clients and drive additional revenue for our business.

You’ll also support on net new business proposals, where appropriate, working closely with the new business team and the practise leads to input into pitches and proposals. Importantly, you’ll be a team player that genuinely cares about what they do and the people they do it with.

 

What you can expect

You'll be a senior business leader across multiple projects / clients / agencies – you’ll ensure seamless client servicing through consistent delivery of brilliant work. You’ll be a strategic partner for your clients, not only being able to solve your client’s problems but being able to identify and articulate the problems they never knew they had. You’ll add real value – always looking to deliver against the longer-term business goals for your clients.

You'll foster strong relationships with senior clients to provide strategic guidance and deliver excellent service – accountable for the strength of the partnership, being responsive and proactive to deliver ‘core and more.

You'll lead, develop and own your Account Plans – working closely with Practice Leads/Portfolio Director to ensure an aligned vision and roadmap exists for your accounts which the whole business can get behind and track against. Be seen as the trusted go-to leader for longer-term direction on your accounts.

You'll Drive account growth – seeking out new opportunities and developing winning proposals to grow your accounts

You'll manage Account Executive and/or Account Manager and/or Senior Account Manager and/or Account Director and/or Senior Account Director level colleagues, where appropriate, providing ongoing mentorship and development to inspire and motivate

You'll maintain clear, regular communication with your Portfolio Director and broader account teams regarding the long-term vision and strategic direction of your accounts – to ensure that the team working across your accounts are all pulling in the right direction and understand the role they play

You'll provide clear strategic direction – both internally and with clients, being a leader who can guide and inspire, pulling on the specialisms within Kin + Carta to galvanise your team around the strategic direction for your accounts

You'll represent Kin + Carta to the outside world - feel confident representing our offering and work collaboratively with team members from across the business and specialisms, seeking out opportunities to work together and add more value for our clients

You'll oversee and control of all commercials across your accounts – ongoing finance planning, ensuring profitability and efficiency, tracking against annual targets and identifying opportunities to plug any revenue gaps ahead of time

You'll manage and monitoring the overall direction and commercials on your account portfolio, you will work in close partnership with your Programme Manager / Lead with shared responsibilities outlined below:

    • Client Services Lead: Financial analysis of growth/opportunity/target, competitor analysis, growing into new areas of business, account planning/targeting and client relationship
    • Programme Manager / Lead: Financial analysis of account running (e.g. overhead spend/margin), delivered projects against target, strategically advising teams on different ways to deliver (e.g. agile, sprint, waterfall), driving ways of working with persistence, building relationships with clients

The type of person we would love to meet

You will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver a consistently excellent client experience across all practices. Working into a Portfolio Director / Client Services Director you will be organised, proactive and keen to act as a highly visible, trusted advisor to all stakeholders.

  • Strategic leader - you’ll be able to offer clear and concise strategic guidance backed up by experience and rigour. You will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of your accounts – creating and implementing Account Plans, strategically identifying new growth opportunities, and delivering compelling proposals that help drive value for our clients and revenue for our business. You’ll work closely with senior teams across the business, to ensure alignment on your Account Plans, to be the figurehead for your accounts and to ensure that the team are all working together towards the same goals
  • Organised – you’ll be totally on the ball, someone who gets things done and orchestrates action
  • Relationship builder – tenacious by nature, you’ll seamlessly forge robust senior relationships with clients, internal teams, and other partners – representing Kin + Carta and reinforcing your position of digital leadership. You’ll be accountable for your client relationships and will look to forge true partnerships with them
  • Knowledgeable – you’ll feel totally confident dealing with the complexities of working with different teams/disciplines, channels, platforms and partner agency mixes

  • Compelling presenter – you’ll be able to hold a room with your presentation skills and style, seamlessly selling strategic ideas and solutions
