The Role

As an Associate Android Engineer, you're likely to be in the early stages of your career. At Kin + Carta you will be supported by more experienced engineers working on products for some of the world’s biggest brands. This opportunity will enable you to learn quickly and will set you up for future success.

Being involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from planning through to delivery, you’ll work with people from other practises and see how your role fits into the bigger picture.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing new features and maintaining a high quality product with guidance from your peers.
  • Prioritising your workload with help from those around you.
  • Honing your verbal and written communication skills in a safe team environment.
  • Working with your mentors to set goals and actively taking steps to achieve them.

  • You are eager to contribute to K+C Engineering culture and take advantage of what’s on offer.

Craft Skills

  • Some experience of writing Android apps using Kotlin and/or Java
  • Some understanding of:
    • Common architectural patterns (such as MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)
    • Android Architecture Components (e.g. ViewModel, LiveData, LifecycleObserver, etc.)
    • Data persistence (e.g. Room, SQLite, etc.)
    • Networking and communication (e.g. OkHttp, Retrofit, etc.)
    • Industry standard libraries (e.g. Dagger, RxJava, etc.)
